Comically Inspired 2011/03/05

Let’s face it: Laughing and Smiling simply make life worth trudging through the mud, the gravel, the broken glass, the structurally weak tent poles, that horribly messy tshirt drawer, the wave functions, dirty algebra, n-th level layer models, hours upon hours of photo and video editing just to realize the photo was way better before your started, maybe that random hand in the background doesn’t look so bad. Perhaps you spent the last few days pouring over pages and pages of code and your eyesight is about to be pushed over the 20/200 limit required to be an astronaut and you frantically, finally, in that last 0.00003 percent of energy you have left find that comma. //oh man :[ .

Well, here’s what I have to say to Computer Programmers:

Yup. Mathematicians win.

Okay, so in case you didn’t know that is an xkcd comic – one of my favorite comic strips. Yup. :)

I was so happy yesterday – I picked up my very own copy of xkcd volume 0. It made for a wonderful night of math and happiness.

xkcd has changed lives, one most importantly of the guy who writes it. He lives local to MIT in Somerville, MA – even when he worked for NASA as a robotoicist he just couldn’t get enough of a nerdy surrounding, so he quit and became a webcomic artist.

Too cool. I hope to find my own infinitely nerdy sanctuary someday, perhaps with my own webcomic, but that’s for another time. For now, I’ve got my nerdy, mathy blog.

Yup, countable amounts of people have done this.
